Elephants have been studied extensively, and scientist conclude they can comprehend grief, joy, anger, and a desire play.
6. They're vegetarian.
Elephants actually spend up to 16 hours a day eating (just) plants.
7. They're adept swimmers.
Their trunk is a major advantage; they use it as a snorkeler to inhale underwater.
8. It takes a pregnant elephant 2 years to give birth.
This is longer than ANY animal in the world, with an average gestation period of 22 months!
9. They have their own funerals.
When an elephant dies, others from the community gather to mourn their loss.
10. They have the largest brains.
Seriously, their is not a larger brain in the entire animal kingdom!
11. They come their own air-conditioning.
The elephant's ears have millions of veins, which actually act as a natural means to conduct heat and naturally cool them off.
