Leo DiCaprio Has a New Film Coming Out and It May Be the Best You've Seen of Him Yet
Leonardo DiCaprio is obviously wildly famous and needs to introduction or explanation of his credentials, but we will say he's become increasingly more known in recent years for his kick-butt/yell about it/macho movie roles.
His latest big screen appearance is much the same, but he's not just depicting it for the camera. For his part in Revelant, a true story of a legendary explorer in the American wilderness left for dead after a bear attack, DiCaprio took on similar treacherous conditions.
Well, Director Alejandro González Iñárritu, who described the shoot as a "living hell," has stepped up and answered the call for this incredible film of a true story. The filming of it was as true to the events that happened as it could of been according to DiCaprio.Â
He says he can name, "30 or 40 sequences that were some of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to do." Among them: sleeping inside dead animals for warmth.
He says that he was on the verge of getting "hypothermia constantly."
He explains, "When you see the movie, you’ll see my reaction to it, because Alejandro kept it in. It says it all. It was an instinctive reaction."
Because this film renders, "one of the most immersive experiences audiences will ever have with what it would be like to come face-to-face with an animal of that magnitude that is incredibly primal," says DiCaprio.
The scenes of the bear attack involved cables and precise choreography, but DiCaprio was right there in the mix with it. He essentially was actually attacked by a bear–at least he wasn't left for dead like Hugh Glass was IRL.
