We All Hate Daylight Saving Time And Now There Are Maps To Back Us Up

by N/A, 8 years ago | 2 min read

If you're a frequent reader of DOSE, you probably already know my impassioned hatred of all things Daylight Saving Time, aka DST, aka Don't Sleep Taylor! It's absurd! There's no need for it. In fact, just as a reminder, it only exists because of greedy 70s capitalism in America. We don't need it, and it needs to go away, just so I can stop yelling into the void of the Internet about it with so man exclamatory remarks! That reason alone is enough, but here's so science to back it up. No exclaim.

See? SEE?! Look how many states quite literally never had a reasonable sunrise time throughout the year. Just because of some weird notion Ben Franklin had back in the day, there are multiple states suffering year-round.

Because of DST, everybody is simply left in mass confusion about when they're supposed to be getting up considering the sun doesn't come up until hours into the start of the day. Why are we still doing this?! It just throws off people's internal clocks, only to get acclimated to it, then BOOM: time to switch it back again!

So, what if DST was completely gotten rid of? Both reasonable sunrise and sunset times would be consistent across states, which seems rather obvious, is what the *FUDGE* should be happening.

Is there a reason to not have consistently reasonable sunrise and sunset times? DO TELL! If not, let's adhere to this map and get rid of this garbage once and for all. Who's with me? I know you're out there! You're on social media complaining about it whenever that time of year rolls around, so rise up and take a stand with me!

Wait, let me preface that movie-speech like heroic dialogue with this little revelatory map. What is DST was always in effect?

We'd NEVER feel the need to get up before, and would ALWAYS get quality sunsets. Hmmm, wait so, DST is good (if always continually happening that is)? Have all my exclamatory remarks been for not? I think NOT! Why? Because, it's not always in effect and it's not being abolished, so we're stuck with map #1 mind-f*cking our internal clocks bi-annually!

Yeah, so sleep on that, DST supporters!

I'll be lying awake wondering how we can beat this thing until the next DST rolls around, at which time I'll also be lying awake for up to a week trying to readjust myself to everything. Gee whiz!
