This New Airplane Design May Help Save Thousands Of Lives In The Future
Do you think it's possible for everyone to survive a plane crash? To safely protect all passengers? Aviation engineer Vladimir Tatarenko thinks so, and he's got just the idea to make it a reality.
Salvaging an entire plane from an imminent crash sounds impossible. Tatarenko's idea? Make the cabin detachable.

“Surviving in a plane crash is possible,” Tatarenko told LiveLeak. “While aircraft engineers all over the world are trying to make planes safer, they can do nothing about the human factor.”

By Tatarenko's estimation, operational tests and standardization of the system will take at least four years and require massive buy-in from investors.
According to him, the approximate cost of making his emergency escape capsule suitable for commercial use would be roughly $1 million USD.
For now, the idea is still just a design, but Tatarenko will continue determining its flaws and pitching the concept to investors and other aviation engineer syndicates.
