This Bloodhound Accidentally Ran A Half-Marathon And Placed 7th
And she wasn't even trying...no seriously. She didn't mean to.
Meet Ludivine, a two-and-a-half year old bloodhound from Elkmont, Alabama. Just recently she did something no dog has ever done - she ran in a marathon...accidentally.
Ludivine's owner, April Hamlin, recalls letting her out to pee, then not seeing her again until the end of the race. “All I did was open the door, and she ran the race,” Hamlin told Runner’s World.
So when Hamlin let her out to pee, and she saw the group of runners all lining up to start the half-marathon, she simply did what any dog would do - she checked it out for herself.
Ludivine ended up "checking things out" for a whole hour and a half, finishing the race with a time of 1:32.56, which was good for...wait for it - 7th Place.
And yes, she absolutely got a medal. In fact, it wasn't until her friends sent her pictures of Ludivine with her award that Hamlin even knew where she'd gone.

Who knows, maybe she woke up and watched Shia's motivational speech and felt compelled.

In any case, we applaud your finish Ludivine. Even if it was on accident.
