This isn't like normal living room furniture. This is something you've never seen before! Shut up and take my money!
Greg Klassen, a Washington-based artist and furniture builder, brings beautiful river-like centerpieces to your living-room.

Klassen gathers much of his raw wood from a local sawmill. This allows him to take advantage of their natural formations and unique imperfections.

He then uses cardboard to stencil out a shape that will really make his vision come alive.

But wait...there's still an empty space between the wood...

Klassen makes a template that follows the natural edges of the wood precisely.

And then he does the unthinkable...

He fills it with glass and it forms a beautiful river running down the middle of the wood.

He started with hanging sculptures, but then he had another bright idea. What about tables?

Klassen then began recycling old trees and tree stumps, instead of just using raw wood from the sawmill.

And this was the amazing result!

The change in shapes of the wood allowed him to create even more unique rivers and lakes.

Klassen hand-cuts the blue glass used to fit the pattern of the wood.

The process might seem easy, but it's Klassen's imagination and expertise that has allowed him to build such beautiful, one-of-a-kind masterpieces.

Klassen, who has a Theology degree, writes,"I try to marry the natural beauty of the wood with the skilled craftsmanship of the maker. When the two come together, a piece can really sing!â€

And that's exactly what it does.
