Will she hold it against her fans for tuning in?

This is a story about a girl named L?u?c?k?y? Britney Jean Spears. But apparently, she didn’t ask for it.

Lifetime is in the midst of developing a biopic on Britney’s rise to fame in Hollywood, which will premiere in 2017, according to TVLine. The two-hour long feature will chronicle the ups and downs of Brit’s career, including her high-profile relationship with Justin Timberlake, her failed marriages, the dark year of 2007 (aka the year she shaved her head and lost custody of her sons) and most importantly, how she built her re-built her career and is once again back on top of the charts.

Actress Natasha Bassett will play the “Oops!…I Did It Again” singer, and I’m loving the resemblance to Young Brit.

So this all sounds GREAT except for the fact that Britney reportedly doesn’t even want this to happen. Awkward.

“Britney Spears will not be contributing in any way, shape or form to the Lifetime biopic,” Britney’s rep told Us Weekly and added, “nor does it have her blessing.”

Well, shit. Obviously, I’m still going to tune in, but it does seem a little sus that Brit isn’t even on board with this!

The pop star, who is dropping her ninth studio album “Glory” on Aug. 26, recently told radio host Scott Mills that she sometimes thinks about what her life would be if she wasn’t famous.

“A lot of times…I’m actually a very private person,” she said. “Sometimes I’m in denial that I’m really famous. It’s too much, I think, for someone to reach that kind of magnitude to really understand it.”

Welp, between her Vegas shows, new album, Carpool Karaoke and upcoming VMAs performance, Britney’s biopic seems like yet another thing to add to the long list of reasons why she’s the reigning queen of pop—even if she’s not 100% sure about it.
