When you hear “dream wedding,” what do you think of?
I’m sure many of you envision the typical “fairytale wedding.” You know, a cliff-perched gazebo overlooking a vast blue ocean, complete with a towering layer cake and multiple llamas. That’s right, for a young couple from North Carolina, llamas played an integral role in their nuptials.
Meet Drew Kluger and Alexis Wilson. According to Julia Reinstein for Buzzfeed, the two planned their wedding in a hotel located in the mountains of North Carolina. And while the idea of a mountain wedding does sound quite pretty and scenic, you can’t rule out the possibility of certain wildlife making their way into your celebration—which is exactly what happened when the Kluger wedding fell on the same date as the annual llama convention that happened to be taking place in the same hotel.
When the young couple noticed the friendly creatures parading around the hotel lobby, they decided to make the most of the situation. Instead of throwing a fit about there being llamas in the hotel they planned to get married in, Kluger and Wilson decided to merge parties and embrace the scenario. Apparently, it was the right choice, too!
As Alexis told Buzzfeed, “When they showed up, everyone went crazy. So they brought their llamas in.” However, many of the wedding guests thought the whole llama stunt was planned because of Alexis’ love for animals.
In case you were wondering, Kluger assured Buzzfeed that none of the llamas had any “accidents” at their celebration, and it turned out to be a really great night for everyone involved. Aside from being able to hug their newly invited llama guests, the piece de resistance for the night was the newlywed’s exit via llama-drawn carriage.
I wonder what their encore will be for the honeymoon…
