As the months turn colder, it’s only a matter of time before the aisles of your local grocer are filled with a pageant of seasonal flavors, from pumpkin spice and peppermint to gingerbread and eggnog. This year, however, they’ll be joined by a peculiar new flavor.
In anticipation of the coming fall, M&M is rolling out a new variation of the popular candy-coated chocolate with the spookily appropriate title “Boo-tterscotch.” Ordinarily, another punnily-named seasonal product would go overlooked at most checkout counters, but taste-testers have discovered something unique about the new flavor that’s giving it some unexpected niche appeal.
Apparently, it tastes just like Butterbeer.
That’s right. The flavor’s blend of chocolate and butterscotch is supposedly a dead ringer for the frothy, golden and delicious liquid dispensed from carts at Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Seems like the perfect sweet treat to munch on during the premiere of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” No? Or, maybe while you’re snuggled up reading the three new Harry Potter books coming out NEXT MONTH.
The flavor is currently only available at M&M’s World, but will be available for a limited time this fall (and presumably, for many falls to come).
In a word:
