Sometimes lovers of the outdoors get cooped up in cities. But Pakayak is here to ease their pain. It’s a full-size, hard-shell kayak that breaks down to the size of a backpack — and it’s awesome.

You can take it from its condensed size of 3.5 feet to the full 14 feet in less than five minutes, using built-in clamps rather than tools or loose parts.

The team says it’s designed for “serious adventurers, hardcore travelers and touring enthusiasts” but it’s still built for a beginner’s level with stability and comfort not offered by other inflatable kayak models.

The project is currently being funded on Kickstarter with an early-adopter price of $1,495. You can still get in on the action and get on the water in no time (well, in March 2017, when the first models will be shipped).
