1. Apple picking at Heavenly Hill Farm
Located just 18 miles outside of Cleveland in North Royalton, Heavenly Hill is a family-run farm where you can pick your own apples or enjoy a hayride around the orchard.
2. Eight-acre corn maze at Maize Valley
Your family could spend all day at Maize Valley and never get bored. In addition to their 8-acre corn maze (which includes hidden trivia questions and features a new theme every year), Maize Valley has wagon rides, a pumpkin cannon, farm animal races and a “littlest farmer” play area. 3. Rockin’-R-Ranch Old West Pumpkin Fest
Rockin’-R-Ranch is often ranked the #1 Halloween attraction in the Cleveland area. Activities include pumpkin picking and decorating, pony rides, a petting farm and a live interactive music show for kids, to name just a few.
4. See the fall colors at the Holden Arboretum
What better way to enjoy the changing autumn leaves than to walk among the branches? Located 40 minutes northeast of Cleveland, the Holden Arboretum offers a unique canopy walk where guests can explore the upper reaches of the forest on an elevated walkway built 65 feet above the ground.
5. Hike Cuyahoga Valley National Park
While Cuyahoga Valley National Park is gorgeous year round, there is something about the fall colors and crisp autumn air that make it even more beautiful at this time of year. Hike the trails or enjoy the view from the scenic train ride around the park.
Presented by Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Boo at the Zoo offers eight nights of scare-free Halloween fun perfect for younger kids. In addition to the animals on exhibit, spooky delights include magic shows, treats for kids, characters in costume, a kiddie train ride and a Monster Mash Dance Party.
7. Hauntauquarium at Greater Cleveland Aquarium
If the weather turns cold and rainy, head to the aquarium, where you can stay warm and dry while enjoying some not-so-spooky family events. Kids can enjoy trick-or-treating, circus-themed games and crafts, live magic, juggling acts and costumed scuba divers in the shark exhibit!
8. HalloWeekends at Cedar Point
Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends isn’t just about the truly terrifying Halloween Haunt. This year, their daytime Great Pumpkin Fest will celebrate the 50th anniversary of “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” Hang out with your favorite Peanuts characters and enjoy lots of kid-friendly activities around the park.
